“This community is my heart.”
I am running for NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL to represent WARD 1 because this community is my heart. I was born and raised in Newport and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. For many years, I have worked to assure all residents can remain here and thrive—and there is still work to be done.
In our schools, I work with our highest priority children and families to ensure quality education and academic success. I have great relationships in our community and have built the trust needed for true collaboration across all interests.
As a member of the Local Advisory Group (LAG), I advocated for and won amendments ensuring housing affordability, open space, and community benefit agreements that were right for. Ward 1 residents.
I have served on many boards, cooked and served meals to our unhoused population, partnered with organizations on family engagement and child development strategies, helped register people to vote, held community dinners and events, and volunteered at community baby showers. I go where I’m needed to make sure everyone knows they are supported and understands they matter.
As Vice Chair of the Ad-Hoc Bridge Realignment and Property Advisory Commission, I am ensuring that future developments have what Newport residents and businesses need to keep our economy and our people thriving.
I believe every Newport resident deserves to thrive here. I’m a hard worker, an advocate, and an activist. I lead with empathy and common sense, and I will continue to amplify every voice, especially those that feel they have not had a platform.
